@ Calleigh: Haha, that is actually the rifle’s cocking mechanism. The Drone there wasn’t kidding when it mentioned the rifle having an awkward appearance!! I actually bought that prop rifle a couple years ago for a feature length gamer film I never finished. Had to use it for something right!?

A quick Google search gives, in the first few results, Wiki, an article on a Russian website and an image in a forum on a US site. In short, it’s the right way up.

The French have their own way of doing things. Think of the Dassault Rafale (see here for Wiki). The wing layout isn’t exactly “conventional”.
