Nice of her to share her elder vampire secrets like that.
But isn’t her last sentence a rhetorical question? Shouldn’t it end with a question mark? And I had to backtrack all the way to page 85 to see what Dakota said about her boot. And what she did say still doesn’t make sense to me: There’s no problem that she can’t solve without her boot? But she has her boot, and uses it to solve a problem. Sure, she could probably have kicked him just as well without her boot, but then why even mention it? It’s Pippi Longstocking and her lack of chewing tobacco all over again! (Can I have some cheese with my whine?)
